It took me nine long years
To finally call it quits
I’ve seen all the patterns
You’re messing up my brain
Then blame it all on me.
It still amazes me
how you love playing tug of war
In this battlefield
with literally everyone
Establishing an upperhand
Recruiting armies of flying monkeys
Then stilling fear to your trusties.
“Don’t go down the rabbit hole
Let your yes, be yes
Let your no, be no”.
Breaking allegiance with you
Has turned my world upside down
Your godlike abilities
Shooting across the map
Inflicting damage
With constant headshots.
Releasing myself from your claws
Costed me more than I could take
A series of nightmares
Deafening silence
Anxiety and depression
Are taking up your space.
Still, I remind myself
“Don’t go down the rabbit hole
Let your yes, be yes
Let your no, be no”.
