Weekly Selected Poem: Jyotirmaya Thakur

Jyotirmaya Thakur

The darkness seems impenetrable,
Black blinds drawn over the windows,
Groping around and nothing found,
Senses hidden under my pillows.
Waking from a dark dream,
Not knowing the location,
Senses sharpen without eyesight,
Seeking position by translation.
Sometimes I cannot feel the day,
Only the dark night in the quiet,
Moon lays a cloak across the room,
When stars shimmer with street lights.
I step outside alone and I feel as one,
In this universe coming home is fun,
The sunrise is like a mythical mystery,
We have never ever understood the Sun.
The peaceful transfer of power this world,
The darkness to light , one becomes two,
We are not alone when shadows unfurl,
In the vastness of the sky, black turns blue.
Who we meet and take on our journeys,
Awareness to travel from here to there,
Peaceful transfer of night to daylight,
Under the twinkling stars hemisphere.
I feel your soul with sense of belonging
Everywhere the heart’s sincere longing
From red to blue without any clue,
The sacred singularity of me into you.
