My Dear Girl, You Must Know
My dear girl, you must know,
That the storms of calamity could,
Make your pace of progress slow.
The lightnings of despair could fall with all its might,
And you might spend many sleepless nights.
The promises made to you could fail.
And in pursuit of heaven, you might end up in hell!
He who would promise you love, could change his mind,
And you might suffer for his words unkind.
Those whom you trust, might conspire against you,
And you could be beaten black and blue!
The winters could be bitter cold and the summers piping hot,
And you could be alienated and left to rot!
Your steps might falter, and your dreams could be shattered,
And you might be judged for words not uttered!
So, my girl, you must know that,
You must have the guts,
To survive these blows.
Only then, with time, you would know,
How to run and even steal this show.
