It’s been centuries you left me
With a fragmented heart
Never gave a second to explain
Just wanted to be apart
Now, plants have become trees
Fruits fell, seeds sprouted
Seven seasons came and went
Perennial streams spouted
Baby girl is now a gorgeous lady
Carrying out double duty
Me now a grey-haired man, a father
With hopes on my beauty
Wasn’t a piece of cake, rearing
My only love of my life
World threw a mixed tantrums
Of momentary joy and strife
Could have easily fallen prey
To the luring harsh world
But the spark in her little eyes
Let the man in me unfurled
Now, proud as a peacock I stand
For grown is my woman
She’s taught me no matter what
Always learn to say “I can.
