IN THE MORNING

.
In the morning it would be so nice
To feel upbeat and have some pep,
Not wearily haul out of bed,
And struggle with each troubling step.
In the morning it would be so nice
To wake up happy and refreshed,
No churning cogs of madness
Stressing me before I’m even dressed.
In the morning it would be so nice
To have a clear head, full of praise,
Instead of this charred ruin,
Ravaged by the mental ills that rage.
In the morning it would be so nice
To not feel low, tired, and depressed,
But, as I say “Good morning, Lord”,
I realize His love leaves me blessed.
For, in the morning, it’s so nice
To wake up in The Lord’s fine grace,
Remembering my soul is saved
Puts a great big smile on my face!
In the morning it’s so very nice
To know I’m safe in Jesus’ care,
And whatever tests I’m going through,
I’m not alone – He’s always there.
In the morning there’s rejoicing,
After long and tiring, fraught, dark nights,
I thank The Lord, for He is good,
Forgiving soul hope, rest, and light.
