Daily Selected Poems: Lebusa Monyooe

Lebusa Monyooe

QUIETUDE

He sat quietly at the bar
Signalling his drink of choice
A whiskey it was
Preferred it naked as sorcerers induction gig
Cast his predatory eyes on assortment
of drinks awaiting suitors
His choice was definitely made
Took it for a gentle spin
Embellishing fragrance of twisting moves
He seductively looked at it one more time
Relishing the aftermath
That tasty aroma
Giving lips erotic tour
And
A gentle sip cursing emotions!
He was in a world of his creation
Not even ruckus chitchats interrupted
He was committed to his choice
Said no word as he relished the mood
Except occasional facial contortions
Whiskey enduced perhaps
And curious patrons dying for details
He was stealthily silent
Perhaps
Another 007 Agent in the making
He downed last drops of his drink
Licked his lips with erotic humour
Then
Slipped into his coat and left
Leaving bar enthusiasts wondering
A muted Whiskey drinker
Wrapped in his own world
Too careful to indulge
Had a fair share of his own
And no inkling to share.
Sometimes
Just be that silent Whiskey drinker
Sipping down own world
Ignoring Cantenkarous chitchats
You aren’t a Radio Show Talk Host
But
A thirsty Soul needing some Quietude!
