Some people love literature; others devote their time and energy to helping literature flourish. Kaberi Mukherjee belongs to the latter. A published poet, writer, editor and dedicated literary organiser, she has built a meaningful place for herself in the contemporary literary world through her poetry, editorial commitment and wholehearted service to the literary community.
Kaberi’s journey with poetry began in her early years. At just fifteen, she wrote her first poem, which was published in her school magazine. Since then, poetry has remained an integral part of her life, a medium through which she explores emotions, memories, relationships, nature, womanhood, human experiences and the many complexities of life.
Her academic background in English Literature, followed by her studies in Applied Psychology, has enriched her literary perspective and given her writing a particular sensitivity towards human emotions and relationships. Her poems often move between the personal and the universal, transforming individual experiences into reflections that many readers can recognise within their own lives.
Kaberi is a published poet whose work has appeared in national and international anthologies, literary magazines and online literary platforms. Her first solo poetry collection, Blooming in Fall, was published by Shikor Publishers in 2023. The collection, comprising 56 poems, reflects her poetic journey through love, longing, nature, memory, introspection, resilience and the search for meaning in life.
Yet Kaberi Mukherjee’s contribution to literature extends well beyond her own writing.
For the past six years, she has been closely associated with Global Poet and Poetry, where she has served as a published poet, dedicated Assistant Editor and administrator, contributing consistently to the organisation’s literary and administrative activities. Her commitment has helped strengthen communication among poets and writers and support the many literary initiatives undertaken by the organisation.
Her contribution is not limited to editorial responsibilities. With warmth, patience and organisational dedication, she has supported literary programmes, communicated with contributors, assisted with editorial work and helped create an inclusive environment where poets from different backgrounds can share their voices. Her presence has therefore become an important part of the growing Global Poet and Poetry family.
Kaberi is also a valued member of the Shikor Editorial Board, continuing her long-standing association with the Shikor literary family. Through both Global Poet and Poetry and Shikor, she has demonstrated that literature is not merely about individual recognition—it is also about encouraging others, building connections and creating opportunities for writers to be heard.
What makes Kaberi particularly special is the harmony between her poetic sensitivity, editorial discipline, administrative commitment and generous spirit. She brings sincerity to her responsibilities and warmth to her relationships within the literary community.
Birthday Wishes; On this special occasion of her birthday on 10 August, Global Poet and Poetry and the Shikor Family extend their warmest wishes to Poet Kaberi Mukherjee.
May the coming year bring her good health, happiness, peace, success and endless creative inspiration. May her pen continue to create poetry that touches hearts, inspires minds and celebrates the beauty and complexity of life.

from heart to heart, across every border.
