After Returning From Suicide by Piyal Roy

After Returning From Suicide

After returning from the edge of suicide,
No mountains to greet my sight
No waved in oceans
No anchor of vessel,
Only the hollow echo of my fading self.

I’ve lost my identity;
Rage has eliminated my pursuit of beauty
That beauty I once sought.
I have ignited Durvasa’s cursed, bloodshot eyes
Like a maniac.
Now, any flicker of light can lull me to slumber,
Any grotesque distortion can bind me to enslave.
I know this sickness will forever drag me
Into the grip of flesh-obsessed deceit.

After returning from the suicidal abyss,
Dreams no longer visit my nights.
No lover waits with arms outstretched,
No welcoming sweet home.

But suicide has left me treasures:
A fractured piece of moon,
Burning scorching stream of golden sand,
Endless gloom in open doors.
After returning, I weave water with these
Many wonders of winter.
