The Poetess

She gazes at the sea,
She gazes at her blurred reflection.
Amidst the Foam of the Waves, life passes.
Beams of light from the chandelier spread
across the ceiling, illuminating the room.
How much sorrow exists in the world
That god has scattered and we gather.
The spirit will unite with the specks of light.
One cannot gaze into the face of light.
The light is the observer,
one can only merge with it,
Transcend the double vision called
I am –
And become nothing.
The air breathes life into my body.
I carry my daughters with me.
Tiny drops scattered on the glass,
Mist of quenching waters, living waters.
Nature calls to the heavens.
Those who return to the pool of darkness
close their eyes like a fetus
asleep in his mother’s womb.

Years are hidden within me, and still, I remain
a tiny, useless corpse, lying on a bed.
The silence of the dark night
illuminates one woman.
The poetess speaks to her soul
watching the disintegration of herself.
