Poem by Anna Ferriero

Anna Ferriero

1. Autumn Murmurs

It’s the sound of toasted coffee
That reminds me of the last sunset of summer
That vanishes without warning
On the pebbles by the beach.
It smells of ink
that reminds me of ready coffee
the vibration of waves
which merges without notice
with the verses of autumn.

2. It was August

It will be Autumn, and the stars of August
They will play the violin.
It will be autumn,
and they will croc like the sounds,
like the waves of the sea,
like the tears of love
the breaths that in August were stars.
And it was August.

3. 10th August

10th August
And it will be Summer
and you will remember the waves of stars
that enveloped that midnight
without any more blank pages.
It will be. One day, Summer Summer.
It was the 10th of August,
and everything began.
We saw the fireflies floating
in the sky like a great comet.
