Poetry by Mahima Tiwari

An Ode to Winter

The resounding silence of the night has its own
serene echo.
Life goes to rest, but the chutzpah of the
morning keeps the night on its toe.
Moon and stars have decided to bid
a temporary farewell.
The sun is exhilarated to ring the morning bell.
Chirping birds are about to take off to forage their best
Whereas the wind is pursuing its instincts
to caste a morning to the chillest!
Dark clouds have woven themselves
with heavy wool of vapor.
Hark the thunder’s ghostly pandemonium,
the fear itself shall waver.
The droplets of rain have initiated their
expedition to freeze themselves into snow
Disabling naughty rills and rivulets
from their guzzling flow!
Little kids will soon sprout up from their hiatus.
Snowballs shall be tossed and hurled, turning winter
fun and advantageous.Venus shall play its magic
in the love potion of the ravishing beloved.
The lovelorn hearts shall shoot Cupid’s arrows
for their passion to be ungloved.
The passion shall be seductive and at cardinal heights.
Symphony of love shall declare the twosome
forever groom and bride.
